Shapechanger. The bludehot can use an action to polymorph into any humanoid form that it is familiar with, or back into it's true form. It's statistics are the same in any form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to it's true form if it dies.
Magic Resistance. The bludehot has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the bludehot fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Multiattack. The bludehot makes two melee attacks. One with the bite and one with the claw.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage. If the attack succeeds, the target must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or suffer one level of exhaustion.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 3) slashing damage plus 12 (3d8) necrotic damage.
Blood Drain (Recharge 5-6). Each creature within 5 ft. of the bludehot must make a DC 17 Strength saving throw. On a failed save the target takes 25 (5d10) necrotic damage. The bludehot pulls the target's blood by osmosis and gains half of the damage dealt as temporary hit points.
The bludehot can also drain the blood of a creature that is freshly dead (whose blood is not dried). If it does so, it gains a number of d4s equal to the hit dice of the creature as temporary hit points.
The Bludehot can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Bludehot regains spent legendary actions at the start of it's turn.
Claw. The Bludehot makes a claw attack.
Bite (Costs 2 Actions). The Bludehot makes a bite attack.
Description
A bludehot is a clever demonic predator who has an insatiable hunger for the living essences of others. Native to the abyss, these demons tend to despise their home realm and often find their way to the mortal planes. Finding the blood of humanoids to be far sweeter than those of others, they are known to hide and hunt amongst their prey. Talented shapeshifters, they are exceptionally skilled at the art of deception often spending a significant amount of time with an intended victim before consuming them and taking their place. Rarely will a bludehot engage in open combat, despite their strength and skill, preferring to strike unexpectedly slaying their targets quickly without drawing unwanted attention. However when a bludehot is revealed and cornered, they will go to extreme lengths to avoid being sent back to the abyss.
