Amorphous. The pudding can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Symbiotic Connection. While the Symbiote is inhabiting a humanoid creature, the creature gains a +1 to their strength, constitution, and dexterity stats, they also gain advantage on strength and Dexterity saving throws. The creature regains 3 hit points at the start of its turn as well unless it took thunder damage in the last 3 rounds. The creature is also immune to poison and diseases. If the Symbiote wants to take control of the body, it must make a charisma contest against the host, taking control of the body on a success. The host can reroll the contest every hour, regaining control on a success.
Spider Climb. The pudding can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus 11 (3d6 + 2) acid damage.
Inhabit. The Symbiote makes a psuedopod attack against a humanoid creature within range, transferring it's mass towards the target. The target must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be inhabited by the Symbiote. While inhabited, the Symbiote moves with the host and cannot be seen unless it uses it's psuedopod attack. It also cannot be targeted by spells or attacks. If the Symbiote takes over the hosts body, it has access to the creatures class features and traits if any. The host can expel the creature with a charisma contest, throwing the Symbiote 10 feet in a random direction. The Symbiote can also be expelled with a Banishment spell or Protection from Good and Evil spell.
Split. When a pudding that is Medium or larger is subjected to lightning or slashing damage, it splits into two new puddings if it has at least 10 hit points. Each new pudding has hit points equal to half the original pudding's, rounded down. New puddings are one size smaller than the original pudding.
Description
Black Symbiotes are heaping blobs of black ooze with pearl white veins throughout the mass. Typically lairing on populated moons, these Symbiotes are the most diverse in their array of thoughts because they do not feel an inclination spread or kill. Like other Symbiotes, Black ones can inhabit their hosts though they act as an extension rather as a parasite, allowing them to live much longer within their hosts.
