Salvage Armor: Vaal-Kresh has resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, and pierce until he has incurred 25 points of damage, when the armor begins to fall apart and damage values become full.

Slavemaster's Fury: When armor has been removed, Vaal-Kresh will channel ancestral rage and become resistant to magic. In this phase he will drop his weapons and use fire breath and unarmed attacks. 

Fire Elemental Form: While on his last 25 hp, Vaal-Kresh takes on a fire elemental form with an AC 10 and begins setting his surroundings- and enemies- ablaze.

Actions

Multiattack. Vaal-Kresh makes two (2) melee attacks or shield bashes (or a combination). In 2nd form, makes 2 claw attacks. 

Warhammer: 1D8 bldg damage or 1D8 pierce damage

Shield Bash. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Claw Strike: +2 to hit, 1D6 damage

Fire Touch: 5 damage, or 2 on a dex save. Failed enemies take 5 damage per turn or 2 on a dex save.

Reactions

Strike back: Vaal-Kresh takes full damage but does 3 return damage. To do so, the gladiator must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon. Roll a d6 and if 2 or less, Strike back is successful.

Fire Breath. Vaal-Kresh exhales fire in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

Vaal-Kresh has 5 points worth of Legendary Actions.

Wild Swings (3 points). The monster makes two attacks with a melee weapon, each attack is made with disadvantage.

Backhand (2 points). The monster makes a melee weapon attack against a creature within its reach. On a hit, the attack deals (1d4 + Str) bludgeoning damage and the target must succeed on a DC (8+Str+Prof) Strength saving throw or be knocked back 10 feet and fall prone.

Consume Flesh (1 point): Vaal-Kresh may consume flesh of a dead or downed enemy or ally and regain 1d4 HP.

Description

Vaal-Kresh is a former Guardian of the Cerberus mortals and a current Slavemaster of the Brisgrave Isles. He believes firmly in his cause and cares for the long-term success of the his family and the isles at any cost.
