Innate Spellcasting. The Arachne's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 13). The Arachne can innately cast the following spell, requiring no material components:
Web (Recharge 5-6). Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 30ft., one Large or smaller creature. Hit: The creature is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained creature can make a DC 10 Strength check, escaping from the webbing on a success. The effect also ends if the webbing is destroyed. The webbing has AC 6, 3 hit points, vulnerability to fire damage, and immunity to bludgeoning, poison and psychic damage.
Multiattack. The arachne makes two claw attacks. It can replace one of those attacks with a bite attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) poison damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage. A second claw attack will do a maximum of 6 (1d8 + 2).
Description
Arachne are imposing, half-spider half-human creatures that are capable of surviving a variety of differing environments. Its human "legs" end in furry, spider-like pedipalps, its arms have a thick layer of fur and end in large, sharp, four-fingered claws, and it has six solid-colored eyes.
A typical Arachne has a top half that is a physically-imposing female human. Its lower spider half is that of a massive tarantula with barbed legs, and thick fur covering its body.
Nomad Society. Arachnes often live together in reclusive, nomadic tribes within their given environment, though some large breeds choose to live in the wilderness as outlanders or hermits, due to the fearful reaction most outsiders have to their generally-monstrous appearance. Their aversion to light leads them to choose to seek refuge in dark forests or underground caves and tunnels.
Temperament. Arachnes are brash, aggressive, unsophisticated, and distrustful of outsiders, though their trust CAN be earned by those who prove themselves within the wilderness. However, despite their abrasive nature, they also possess the cunning to engineer ambushes, whether it be through burrowing underground, or with their thick and durable webbing.
