Bound to Power While the humanoid catalyst used to summon the blood avatar is still alive, the Blood Avatar cannot fall below 1 HP, and is immune to instant-kill effects such as Power Word Kill
Strength from Death When the blood avatar kills a creature, it regains hit points equal to that creature's level or CR, whichever is higher. Additionally the Blood Avatar heals from all sources of necrotic damage.
Multiattack The Blood Avatar makes two sword attacks, and one Blood Glob attack. It can instead make one sword attack before using Blood Boil if it is available.
Sword Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: 23 (4d6 + 7) slashing damage.
Blood Glob Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, range 30/60 ft., 2 targets within 5ft of each other. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 5) [damage type] damage.
Blood Boil (Recharge 3-6) The Blood Avatar chooses a point within 150 feet of itself, and a 40-foot radius sphere centered on that point fills with a burst of searing, blood-red mist. Each creature of the blood mage’s choice that it can see in that area must make a DC 23 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 60 (10d10) necrotic damage and is incapacitated until the end of its next turn. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage and isn’t incapacitated. A creature dies if reduced to 0 hit points by this necrotic damage.
The Blood Avatar has 4 legendary actions which it can use at the end of a creature's turn.
Move (Costs 1 Action). The Blood Avatar moves up to it's speed.
Sword (Costs 2 Actions) The Blood Avatar makes one sword attack.
