Solar Powered. Bearded Dragons are ectothermic, and are unable to produce their own body heat. They spend the majority of the day in the sun, basking in it's warmth. If they spend at least 12 hours outside of hot conditions, they gain 1 level of exhaustion with each passing hour until they gain warmth.
Desert Dweller. Bearded Dragons are native to deserts and savannas, hiding in caves, under logs and even in the sand itself. Bearded dragons have Advantage on stealth when in their home environment.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +0 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.
Beard Puff (Recharge 4-6). The Bearded Dragon puffs up their beard and turns black, appearing more threatening. All creatures with an intelligence of 4 or lower within 20 feet of the Beard Dragon must make a Wisdom saving throw, the DC being 8. Any that fail are frightened of the Bearded Dragon and must use all of their movement to flee. This effect lasts for 1 minute, and the creature can attempt the save again at the end of their turn.
Description
Bearded Dragons are native to deserts and savannas, making use of the sand and terrain to hunt for juicy bugs and hide from predators. They sustain themselves with bugs and dark green vegetables, with the occasional bit of cactus and fruit. They are powered by the sun, being ectothermic, drawing on its heat as they cannot produce their own. Usually affectionate and cuddly with their owners and handlers when kept as pets, they seldom enjoy each others company, becoming territorial and fighting with their own kind. In the wild they are friendly to each other when young, born in clutches of eggs, but as they grow older they claim areas of their homeland to mark as theirs, fighting off intruders to the death.
Many have found these creatures amiable companions, with dragonborn and sometimes actual dragons discovering a fondness for them. Their apathetic demeanour being a disguise to hide the cuddly and affectionate side they reserve for their owners.
Made in memory to my beloved Bearded Dragon Noodle, may she rest in her dragons hoard with mountains of treasure and tasty locusts to eat till the end of time.
