Detect Life. The Bancinfoozeg can magically sense the presence of creatures up to 5 miles away that aren’t undead or constructs. She knows the general direction they’re in but not their exact locations.
Amorphous. The Bancinfoozeg can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Unusual Nature. The Bancinfoozeg doesn’t require sleep.
Hallucinogenic Fog. The Bancinfoozeg can create a 120 foot-radius sphere Hallucinogenic Fog from within itself. Creatures that are within or enter the fog must succeed at a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or they are charmed for one day. Charmed creatures see the bancinfoozeg as someone they know or love and will approach them. If the target suffers any harm, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. If the target successfully saves against the effect, or if the effect on it ends, the target is immune to the fog for the next 10 minutes. Creatures that don't breathe are immune to the fog.
Transparent. Even when the Bancinfoozeg is in plain sight, it takes a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to spot a cube that has neither moved nor attacked. A creature that tries to enter the cube's space while unaware of the Bancinfoozeg is surprised by the Bancinfoozeg.
Spellcasting (Psionics). The Bancinfoozeg casts one of the following spells, requiring no spell components and using Intelligence as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 18):
At will: charm person (as 5th-level spell), detect thoughts, Hallucinatory Terrain
3/day each: dimension door, dominate person, hypnotic pattern, telekinesis
Multiattack. The Bancinfoozeg makes two Pseudopod attacks, and it uses Eat Memories.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) acid damage.
Engulf. The Bancinfoozeg moves up to its speed. While doing so, it can enter Large or smaller creatures' spaces. Whenever the cube enters a creature's space, the creature must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw.
On a successful save, the creature can choose to be pushed 5 feet back or to the side of the Bancinfoozeg. A creature that chooses not to be pushed suffers the consequences of a failed saving throw.
On a failed save, the Bancinfoozeg enters the creature's space, and the creature takes 10 (3d6) acid damage and is engulfed. The engulfed creature can't breathe, is restrained, and takes 21 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of the cube's turns. When the cube moves, the engulfed creature moves with it.
An engulfed creature can try to escape by taking an action to make a DC 14 Strength check. On a success, the creature escapes and enters a space of its choice within 5 feet of the Bancinfoozeg.
Horrifying immage. Each non-undead creature within 60 feet of the Bancinfoozeg that can see it must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with disadvantage if the Bancinfoozeg is within line of sight, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a target’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to the Bancinfoozeg Horrifying immage for the next 24 hours.
Wail (1/Day). The Bancinfoozeg releases a mournful wail, provided that she isn’t in sunlight. This wail has no effect on constructs and undead. All other creatures within 30 feet of her that can hear her must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, a creature drops to 0 hit points. On a success, a creature takes 10 (3d6) psychic damage.
Description
The Bancinfoozeg is a giant ooze that lives in large lakes. It feeds on creatures that it lures into itself with its mist. It shows the creature, people it knows who are floating in the water as corpses and are calling for them. It is said to have been created by the tormented souls of female elves.
