Piscine Regeneration. When the baryonyx consumes at least a pound of fish meat it regenerates 5 hit points at the start of its next turn. The number of turns this regeneration lasts for is increased with each pound of fish eaten, after eating 10 pounds the baryonyx will gain 5 hit points at the start of the next 10 turns and so on.

Actions

Multiattack. The baryonyx can make two bite attacks.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (3d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage. If the target is under water, it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw, becoming stunned on a failed save. A stunned creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the condition on a success.

Description

Baryonyx are medium sized semiaquatic dinosaurs and one of the few predatory dinosaurs you can approach with even a modicum of safety. Built much like a smaller nimbler spinosaurus, baryonyx are specialist predators of aquatic animals including but not limited to fish, sharks, crocodiles, giant crustaceans, all manner of cephalopods, and even whale calves when the opportunity presents itself. Baryonyx are so specialized for aquatic living that they can regenerate damage done when in a feeding frenzy. Despite all their aquatic adaptations these dinosaurs are still more than capable of hunting on land or defending themselves there if the need arises with unwebbed feet and a strong bite. If tamed baryonyx make wonderful all terrain mounts.
