Amphibious. The toad can breathe air and water.
Standing Leap. The toad's long jump is up to 20 feet and its high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.
Living Cauldron. The toad can be used the same way as Alchemist's Supplies or to mix multiple potions into one. When it is used in this way, ability checks gain an additional +1 to the roll made and it must roll on the cauldron miscibility table (listed below). After creating a potion, the toad can hold the potion inside of itself for 24 hours, it can hold up to 4 potions at one time.
| d100 | Result |
|---|---|
| 01 | The mixture creates an explosion, dealing 3d10 acid damage to the toad and 1d10 acid damage to each creature within 5 feet of it. |
| 02–08 | The potion becomes an ingested poison of the DM’s choice. |
| 09–15 | Any potions being made or mixed lose their effects. |
| 16–25 | The toad is unable to use its Living Cauldron ability until it completes a Long Rest. The potion works, but with the numerical effects and duration halved. A potion has no effect if it can’t be halved in this way. |
| 26–35 | The potion works, but with the numerical effects and duration halved. A potion has no effect if it can’t be halved in this way. |
| 36–90 | The potion works normally. If you are mixing 2 potions together, the new potion retains the effects of both. |
| 91–99 | The numerical effects and duration of the potion are doubled. If neither potion has anything to double in this way, they work normally. |
| 00 | The potion works, but its effect is permanent. Choose the simplest effect to make permanent. For example, a potion of healing might increase the drinker’s hit point maximum by 4, or oil of etherealness might permanently trap the user in the Ethereal Plane. At DM discretion, an appropriate spell, such as dispel magic or remove curse, might end this lasting effect. |
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) poison damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 12). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the toad can't bite another target.
Swallow. The toad makes a bite attack against a Small or smaller target it has grappled. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the toad, and it takes 10 (3d6) acid damage at the start of each of the toad's turns. The toad can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the toad dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape by using 5 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Cauldron Bubble. Range Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. If the toad is currently holding a potion with its Living Cauldron ability, it can create a bubble out of the potion and attack a target within range. The target acts as if it has used the potion as normal. If the potion used has a Saving Throw DC, the DC is increased by +1. The potion is expended whether the attack hits or misses.
