Vehicle: This construct is a manually-operated magitech vehicle. Without a driver, it cannot move or take actions, and its initiative is always the same as its driver. The driver and any passengers cannot be hit except by critical attacks, with the vehicle instead recieving any damage directed at them. Can fit four humanoids of normal or smaller size, along with up to 1000Ibs of luggage. Will not function in an area devoid of magic.
Maintenance: This vehicle needs regular maintenance. A creature with any basic experience in caring for this vehicle (can be negotiated with the DM) must spend an hour tending to it every week or it will break down and need a full day of maintenance to fix. Additionally, every 200 miles driven, the vehicle's Momentum Crystal must be replaced for 20gp. Any damage done to this vehicle can be repaired by an engineer for 5sp worth of scrap metal and half an hour of work per missing health point.
Road Vehicle: If this vehicle moves over difficult terrain, it will become stuck and cannot move until pulled free with a DC15 Strength or Athletics check.
Acceleration: This vehicle cannot dash. Instead, after every round in which it moves, its movement speed increases by 60ft up to a maximum of 300ft per turn. If it is travelling above 120ft per turn, it cannot turn more than 90 degrees in one turn and cannot decelerate more than 120ft per turn.
Vehicular Accident: If the vehicle collides with a solid object then the object will (if it can) make a Dexterity saving throw or take bludgeoning damage according to the following chart. The vehicle will take separate damage as listed below, unless the object is rooted in place (such as a building) or very heavy (such as another Autovagen), in which case the vehicle will take full damage and all passengers will take the vehicle's normal damage.
Damage chart:
-If below 120ft on impact, save is DC 10, dealing 4 (1d8) bludgeoning damage to target and 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage to vehicle.
-If between 120ft and 240ft on imact, save is DC 13, dealing 9 (2d8) bludgeoning damage to target and 5 (2d4) bludgeoning damage to vehicle.
-If over 240ft (due to not decelerating at all), save is DC 16, dealing 13 (3d8) bludgeoning damage to target and 7 (3d4) bludgeoning damage to vehicle.
(EG: If hitting another Autovagen at 200ft per turn, the other Autovagen must make a DC13 Dexterity save and, on a fail, both vehicles will take 3d8 bludgeoning damage while all passengers will take 3d4 bludgeoning damage.)
Specialised Vehicles: There is more than one kind of Autovagen. Different variations exist, with their specifics and expected prices below:
-Regular Autovagen: As written above. Usually costs around 300gp.
-Economy Autovagen: Health, speed, and carrying capacity are all halved, and maintenance need is doubled. Usually costs around 100gp.
-Heavy Autovagen: Can carry up to eight humanoid passengers of medium or smaller size and up to 4000Ibs of luggage. Deals twice as much bludgeoning damage in the event of a crash. Health is doubled, and size is Huge. Usually costs around 800gp.
-Sports Autovagen: Speed and acceleration are doubled (crashes over 360ft per turn destroy the vehicle, deal 20 (5d8) bludgeoning damage to target, and 12 (5d4) bludgeoning damage to passengers unless the target succeeds a DC18 Dexterity saving throw). Gives a +1 boost to the driver's ego. Usually costs over 2000gp.
Honk the Horn: Produce a loud noise that can be heard up to 150ft away.
Description
Perhaps the most in-demand magitech construct in the entire Rikke, the Autovagen revolutionised transportation. Journeys that once required weeks of weary marching can be undertaken in a day with an Autovagen, and without the expense of maintaining a horse. While prohibitively expensive for the working classes, merchants and petty nobles all across the Rikke eagerly set aside their gold in the hopes of buying one.
Essentially an endlessly revolving crystal hooked up to a set of wheels in a metal carriage, although a clever system of machinery maximises the output of the crystal and ensures the comfort and safety of the passengers.
