Description

Ruin lizards are voracious predatory creatures that are artificial in nature, having been modified by powerful magic ages ago and as such exhibiting unusual appearance, abilities, and behavior. They get their names from the destruction they bring due to their extremely voracious nature, and the ruins they like to use as dens and hunting ground.

They appear as a mix of a giant lizard and a drake, having a strong and agile form with a large head covered in thick durable scales, their mouth is filled with sharp teeth and they have a long extendable tongue they can use to try and snag preys. The back of their head houses a cluster of frills made of clusters of scales, and their back and tail are covered in quills, all of which they can raise in an impressive display of intimidation. Additionally, two long antennae also sprout from the back of their head, they can move them independently and use them in order to chemically communicate with one another and sens their environments.

Ruin lizards are surpisingly intelligent, living in small packs under the command of an older, smarter, and stronger alpha, they are able to coordinate their hunt and act as if sharing a mind, which they might just might be doing. They can even swallow small objects, usually rocks, and store them in a special gullet to then later spit at preys and predators alike with surprising force. Despite their appetite, they can be tamed by the most determined of rangers, and can even be "reasoned" with by offering them food regularly, as such making them consider you a source of food rather than outright prey.
