Zoula is from the North, she grew up living near and interacting with many dwarves. She speaks fluent Dwarvish and knows their culture and customs well. She is quick to befriend them and dispell the stigma dwarves possess about elves very quickly as they quickly come to respect her and her knowledge of their people. She joined the Zhentarim a few years back at the behest of her Dwarf mentor Bram Firehammer a Zhentarim veteran who retired and settled in Zoula's village. She quickly took a liking to Nikos Felar and often works together with him since they work well together and have become one of Darkhold's most reliable teams.
