Traits

Ethereal Awareness. The ethereal giant space hamster can see ethereal creatures and objects.

Ethereal (not really). The ethereal giant space hamster appears to be ethereal but isn't. It is translucent and its skeleton can be seen.

Sorrowful Squeaking. The ethereal giant space hamster squeaks magically. Every enemy within 30 feet of the hamster that can hear it must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the hamster until the end of the hamster’s next turn. A frightened target that starts its turn within 30 feet of the hamster must use all its movement on that turn to get as far from the hamster as possible, it must finish the move before taking an action, and must take the most direct route, even if hazards lie that way. A target that successfully saves is immune to the squeaking of all ethereal giant space hamsters for the next 24 hours.

Actions

Ethereal Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) force damage.

Description

Giant space hamsters are cute, plant-eating rodents as big as brown bears. They tend to avoid other creatures, especially threatening ones but, in the case of the ethereal giant space hamster - creatures avoid them. Oddities among their kin, living in reclusive colonies often in areas with ties to other planes of existence. Just gazing at them tends to cause most creatures to run in fear - the hamsters appear to know this and gather in large packs to ward away intruders. Strange that studies have revealed they are not ethereal in any capacity and this is likely just another gnomish experiment gone awry. This variant of the giant space hamster is a mystery.

Space Hamsters

Space hamsters resemble their terrestrial kin, both in their appearance and general demeanour, and they come in a variety of colours and variations.
