Traits

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.

Unusual Nature. The zombie doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Actions

Multiattack. The zombie makes two attacks on a single target in melee range, chosen between Bite, Claw, and Tail. Also, see the Characteristics section for information on characters being Infected as a result of the attacks.

Breath Weapon. Void Breath - The dragon exhales a miasma of undeath in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, taking 10(3d6) Necrotic Damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Void Breath can only be used once per day.

Melee Attacks:

  • Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 5 (2d4) necrotic damage.
  • Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (2d6 +2)slashing damage.
  • Tail. Melee Weapon Attack:+5 to hit, reach 10 ft. one target. Hit:(2d4+2) bludgeoning damage.

Reactions

Explosive Death: If the Baby Dragon Zom-bomination takes more than half of its maximum hit points from a single attack (even if it does not reduce the Zom-bomination's hit points to zero), it explodes violently, creating an undeath miasma with a 15 foot radius centered on itself. Everyone within the AOE must take a Dexterity saving throw (DC 12). (In case it's not clear, the Zom-bomination dies when this happens.)

On a failed save, creatures/characters are knocked prone, take 3d6 Necrotic damage, and are Infected. People who succeed in the save take half damage, are not knocked prone, and are not infected. See the Characteristics section for further information on the Infected status condition.

Description

The Baby Dragon Zom-bomination is, as its name implies, an abomination created through foul magic and dragon parts. It is only called a "baby" due to its diminutive size, but it was never born, only crafted.

These small abominations are only known to exist as an experiment by the Cult of the Dragon. If they are bonded to a Cultist, they will follow orders that they are given. If found in the wild, they are recklessly aggressive and will attack anything living.

If a creature/character takes more than 6 Necrotic damage from any Bite or Breath attack by the Zom-bomination, it is Infected.

Infected: Creatures that are Infected by the Zom-bomination must make Constitution (DC12) saving throws at the beginning of every turn. For every failed saving throw, the creature's hit point maximum is lowered by (2d6). If the target's hit point maximum is reduced to zero, then the target dies and becomes a Zombie. The Infected status is removed after two successful saving throws. The hit point maximum reduction lasts until the target finishes a Long Rest.
