Amphibious. The amphisphinx can breathe both in water and in air.
Charge. If an amphisphinx swims or runs more than 20ft in a straight line, it can make a gore attack. If the attack hits, the target will take the damage of gore and must succeed a DC 16 strength saving throw. On a fail, the target is knocked prone and takes the damage. On a success, the target just takes the full damage.
Multiattack. The amphisphinx makes two claw attacks
Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 13 (3d6+4) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage.
Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage and 7 (3d4) poison damage. The target must succeed a DC 13 constitution saving throw or be poisoned for the next minute.
After taking the charge action, the amphisphinx may make a claw attack as a bonus action
Description
Underwater predators. Amphisphinx range from coastal to deep water, where they live in groups of 5-20, often moving around, but sometimes staying where they are for months or even years at a time. They make their homes in coral reefs and deep sea trenches. They hunt as a group, taking down creatures many times larger than themselves, such as giant sharks and whales. They have even been known to prey upon and destroy large ships full of humanoids.
Trainable mounts. Merfolk and Sahuagin have been seen with amphisphinx, training them as mounts and pets. They are generally cautious and skittish, but once trained have a strong loyalty and alliance to those that favoured it. They are not very aggressive but it is not a good idea to enrage one.
Feline Likeness. Amphisphinx resembles that of an aquatic cat, with fins along the back and legs, ears extended into horns, and a barbed tail. Though they do not have quite the same dextrous nature as a normal feline, they are able to exercise their power and agility on land as well as in the sea. In some coastal towns and villages, amphisphinx can be seen relaxing on the beach, raiding fishing houses, and darting in and out of the sea.
