Spider Climb. The spider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Tremorsense. A monster with tremorsense can detect and pinpoint the origin of vibrations within a specific radius, provided that the monster and the source of the vibrations are in contact with the same ground or substance.
Tremorsense can't be used to detect flying or incorporeal creatures. Many burrowing creatures, such as ankhegs, have this special sense.
Translucent body. The Anthorat gains +2 to stealth checks. Any attacks made against it, while in dim light, have disadvantage.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.
Weakening Spray. The anthorat sprays a putrid smelling liquid in a 20-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or have disadvantage on Strength-based attack rolls, Strength checks, and Strength saving throws for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Description
Anthorats used to exist exclusively in the Underdark but unkown forces have pushed them into the overworld. This giant arthopods are formidable hunters: their size, sturdiness and translucent bodies makes them the perfect ambush predator. Evolved to live in cave systems, Anthorats are most active when it's dark, they use their almost-invisibility to their advantage were even creatures with dark vision have a hard time spoting them.
Anthorats hunt by waiting for an unsuspecting victim to pass near them, even if the monstrosity can't see their prey, they can sense the vibrations the creature produce with every step. Patiently the anthorat will wait for the perfect moment to spit their weakening spray upon their meal, from there it only takes one poisonous bite to finish the job.
The monstrosities are so succesful that they tend to unbalance any ecosystem they call home. Anthorats can lay up to 400 eggs after the mating season. Both parents guard the bruth with their lives securing numerous generstions of killing machines...
