Traits

Minor Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If the rathalos fails a saving throw, it can choose to reroll the save with advantage but must use the new roll.

Actions

Multiattack. The rathalos makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its talons. While flying, it uses its wings in place of its bite attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (3d10 + 6) piercing damage.

Wings. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage.

Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) slashing damage and the target must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Hurling Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (6d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength or Constitution (target's choice) saving throw or be stunned until the end of the target's turn. If the attack misses, the rathalos must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw or take half of the amount of bludgeoning damage dealt by the attack, or half as much of that damage on a success. If the attack hits, the rathalos makes this save with advantage.

Fireball (Recharge 5-6). The rathalos exhales a fireball to a point within 100 feet of it. Each creature in a 10-foot radius sphere centered on that point must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 (13d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6). The rathalos exhales fire in a 20-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 28 (8d6) fire damage on a failure, or half as much damage on a success.

Description

Azure Rathalos are a subspecies of rathalos that were born with a heavier armored shell, forcing them to develop stronger muscles to be able to fly properly.
