Cooling Susceptibility. Each time the wolf takes cold damage, the molten rock which covers its body slightly hardens, reducing its speed by 5 feet for 1 minute. If the wolf's speed is reduced to 0 by this effect, it is petrified until its speed is restored to above 0.
Pack Tactics. The wolf has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the wolf's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Nimble Escape. The wolf can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.
Magma Stride. While the wolf stands in a pool of lava, it can spend 10 feet of its movement to dive into the lava and reemerge any other space with a lava pool within 60feet of it.
Multiattack. The wolf makes three bite attacks, or two bite attacks and one fiery lunge attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) [piercing] damage and 7 (2d6) [fire] damage.
Fiery Lunge. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (6d8 + 3) [fire] damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and become grappled by the wolf.
Lava Lake (recharge 6). The wolf lets loose a howl and spews lava in a 30-foot cone. Each space within that area becomes a lava pool.

Description
The molten wolves are highly territorial and quite aggressive. While the pups can be curious, when an unfamiliar creature gets too close they will undoubtedly lash out. They do not often engage directly and instead lay down pools of lava between them and the source of their fear, biding time until their parent comes to their aid. Those adult wolves are extremely tactical. They use their speed and agility to their advantage, knowing they can’t win most contests with sheer strength, and prefer to ambush foes by hiding in the lava laid down by their pups.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lava Pools
Lava pools create an area of difficult terrain. If a creature is resistant or immune to fire damage, they can ignore difficult terrain created by lava pools.
A creature standing in a lava pool at the start of its turn takes 10 fire damage. For each 5 feet a creature moves through a lava pool on its turn, it takes an additional 1d4 fire damage.
If a creature takes cold damage while standing in a lava pool, the lava in that creature's space hardens to rock and is no longer considered a lava pool. Alternatively, a creature can directly target a lava pool with an attack, spell, or effect which deals cold damage to harden it.
For DMs: It is recommended for any encounter using molten wolves that the area already include a number of areas with lava pools, rather than relying on the wolves to set up the pools entirely on their own.
