Multiattack. Vine Monster makes two attacks: one with its scimitar and one with its vines.
Scimitar. Melee weapon attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Vines. Melee weapon attack: +2 to hit, reach 10ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage, and the target must make a DC 11 constitution saving throw, taking 6 (1d6 + 2) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
Grasping Vines. If a creature makes a melee attack against Vine Monster and fails, Vine Monster can attempt to grapple that creature as a reaction.
Description
Vine Monster was used in my campaign with friends. After defeating a few skeletons in a room full of vines, the vines began to twist into a sort of ball-like form, entangling the defeated skeletons within it as it formed (That's why it has the scimitar attack. It's basically using a skeleton's arm and weapon as its own.)
Vine Monster would be found anywhere there's dense foliage and evil energy or spirits abound.
