Description
Bondbirds are semi-sentient raptors and corvids that are slightly larger then their non-intelligent cousins. They were originally created by the ancient clans, who had access to powerful magic no longer available, and possess rudimentary intelligence and telepathy with their bonded. A person can have more than one bondbird bonded to them. Thoughts are more often expressed as images and/or feelings rather than words, but bondbirds are capable of forming simple phrases. These birds can be red-shouldered hawks, crested eagle-hawks, peregrin falcons, gyrefalcons, short-earred owls, screech owls, crows or ravens.
Each type of bondbird tends toward a specific kind of personality that shades their communication with their bonded. The crows seem to have the liveliest sense of humor and ravens are more sardonic. The falcons tend to be quick-witted but extremely focused while hawks are a little slower but more deliberate. Lastly owls are somewhat ponderous in their thinking.
