Actions

Multiattack. The Bearded Devil Bodyguard makes two melee weapon attacks.

Poison Beard. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned in this way, the target can't regain hit points. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Sharp Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Infernal Glaive. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage. If the target is a creature other than an undead or a construct, it must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or lose 5 (1d10) hit points at the start of each of its turns due to an infernal wound. Each time the devil hits the wounded target with this attack, the damage dealt by the wound increases by 5 (1d10). Any creature can take an action to stanch the wound with a successful DC 12 Wisdom (Medicine) check. The wound also closes if the target receives magical healing.

Bonus Actions

Tail Grapple.  As a bonus action, Bearded Devil Bodyguard can attempt to grapple the target with its tail. It makes an attack with its tail but instead of doing damage the creature must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be grapple and restrained. The creature can use an action to break free. The devil may choose to end the tail grapple as a free action.

Reactions

Parry. As an reaction, the Bearded Devil Bodyguard adds 3 to its AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the devil must see the attacker.

Tail Trip. When an enemy moves within 5 ft of the devil, it can use its reaction to attempt to knock the creature prone. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.

Description

Bearded devils serve archdevils as shock troops, fighting shoulder-to-shoulder and reveling in the glory of battle. They respond with violence to any slight, real or imagined, gorging themselves on violence as their infernal saw-toothed glaives carve a path through their foes.

These Bearded Devil Bodyguard have been granted by a archdevil from the Abyss to one of their followers or allies for a short time to make sure their task that is needed to carry out succeeds. These are newly created bearded devils set to prove their allegiance to their archdevil masters as veteran bearded devils have a harder time containing their need for violence. Once their task is completed, most of the time, the archdevil will give the command for the Bearded Devil Bodyguard to remove the follower or ally as their usefulness to the archdevil has been completed.

A bearded devil is humanoid in form, with pointed ears, harden scaly skin, a long powerful tail, and sharp claws that clearly show its fiendish nature. These devils take their names from the snakelike growths that adorn their chins, which they use to lash and poison enemies, weakening them with their virulent venom.

When the Bearded Devil Bodyguard is on the Prime Material plane the current owner of these devil typically try to keep their appearance hidden. These devils are typically have long hooded garb with light leather armor underneath a dark loose shirt that covers their fiendish skin and face; this does not help with protection. They also have a loose scarf that helps covered their beard and face if the hooded garb does not cover all of their face.

Their snakelike growths are typically intertwine and tucked underneath their chin to make the appearance of a normal bushy beard. Their tail is wrapped around their stomach underneath the loose shirt to give the appearance of larger gut. They like to surprise attackers by using their tail to knock back weapons.
