Made of Bones. Attacks that deal piercing damage have disadvantage on their attack roll.
Regeneration. The Skeleton King regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of the Skeleton King’s next turn. The Skeleton King dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn’t regenerate.
Commanding Aura. The Skeleton King and any undead within 30 feet of it have a +2 bonus to AC and advantage on attack rolls made with melee weapons. This effect does not trigger if the Skeleton King is at half health or lower, or incapacitated.
Multiattack. The Skeleton King makes two attacks with its greatsword.
Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) slashing damage.
Ballista. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 200/1000 ft., one target. Hit: 31 (8d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Description
Formerly powerful lords, skeleton kings are undead tyrants forced into their nightmarish states by powerful wizards or evil demigods who trapped their souls in everyday objects. Skeleton Kings search for their soul, usually leading an army of skeletons to do so. When a Skeleton King finds their object, they are almost unstoppable, for they are not undead anymore, but are not alive, rendering them almost immortal. Skeleton Kings that have found their soul (called Corzaels), then seek out nearby towns, with a mindset of nothing but destroying, destroying, destroying. (You can find the stats for Corzaels in a separate stat block)
