Traits

Afterimage Master. Blót moves quickly enough that he can generate afterimages of himself after he attacks. Whenever Blót makes a damage roll, and the total is an even number, Blót generates an afterimage. Each afterimage has Blót's statistics, but has AC 16 and 1 hit point, and cannot move more than 10 ft. away from him - if Blót moves, the afterimages move with him. Blót can only have two afterimages at a time. If Blót's hit points fall to 150 or less, he generates afterimages after each attack he makes, not only on even-numbered totals.

Each afterimage shares Blót's initiative count, but takes its turn immediately after him. An afterimage can make only one attack on its turn, using Blót's attack bonus, as normal. An afterimage cannot create its own afterimages, cannot take legendary actions, and can only use Blót's Frost Brand Longsword for attacks it makes.

Blessing of Yggdrasil. At the start of each of his turns, Blót regains 20 hit points. Moreover, he has advantage on saving throws against spells, and is immune to any effect that would instantly kill him without taking damage. This trait does not function while Blót is Incapacitated.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Blót fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Special Equipment. Blót carries a Frost Brand Longsword which grants him resistance to fire damage (included above), an Animated Shield, and a Cloak of Protection. Each item requires attunement.

Actions

Multiattack. Blót makes three attacks with his Frost Brand Longsword. He can replace one of the attacks with Frigid Slash. If Blót has his Miracle Edge available, he uses it after these attacks.

Frost Brand Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8+4) slashing damage or 9 (1d10+4) slashing damage if used with two hands, plus 3 (1d6) cold damage.

Frigid Slash. Blót makes an attack with his Frost Brand Longsword. On a hit, a target suffers the attack's normal damage, and must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 54 (12d8) cold damage, or half as much damage on a success.

Miracle Edge (Recharge 6). Blót slashes with the combined force of his afterimages. Blót makes an attack with his Frost Brand Longsword. On a hit, in addition to the attack's normal damage, the target takes an additional 13 (2d12) force damage. For each active Afterimage that Blót has, the target takes an additional 26 (4d12) force damage, and each active Afterimage that Blót has dissipates.

Legendary Actions

Blót can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the actions below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature's turn. Blót regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Act Breaker. Blót makes a Frost Brand Longsword attack against a creature within range. On a hit, the target suffers the weapon's normal damage, and must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be Stunned until the end of Blót's next turn.

Clear Mind (Costs 2 Actions). Blót centers himself to get rid of his weaknesses. Unless he is Incapacitated, Blót ends one condition affecting himself from the following list: Charmed, Blinded, Deafened, Frightened, Poisoned, or he relieves himself of up to 2 levels of Exhaustion.

Guard Rush (Costs 2 Actions). Blót readies himself for incoming damage. At the start of Blót's next turn, he unleashes a wave of energy from the stored power of all the damage he has taken since he readied himself - each creature within 15 ft. of Blót when he releases this energy must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to the amount of damage that Blót has taken since he used this legendary action, spread evenly among all creatures (rounding up). A creature that succeeds on its save takes half as much damage.

Description

There are many people that want to make the world better - heroes that help people out of the goodness of their heart, people who want to destroy only to create anew from the ashes, but none hold a candle to Blót.

Born as the younger of a set of twins, Blót (It's pronounced "BLOHT"!) aspired to take back what little control over his destiny he could get - after conspiring with his older brother to wedge his way into the Adventurer's Guild as nothing but a noble sell-sword, he eventually rose in the ranks to acquire more influence for himself and his brother. Given that they were twins, the two of them were often mistaken for each other, but neither of them cared for that. All they cared for was their plan - what was it?

Burn it all down, and reduce the ashes to nothing but motes carried along the winds of chaos.

With their influence coming to a fever's pitch in the campaign to explore one of the more recently discovered archipelagoes that housed a Seed of Yggdrasil, the two of them put their plan into action - they absconded with the princess of the floating city of Maginia, used her royal blood to infused what they could that required the touch of magic, and attempted to bring about the coming of the destroyer of the world - Jormungandr, a gargantuan beast that was sealed away for its potential in reducing the world to cinders.

Blót, as he is now, has just managed to unseal that massive beast, and is willing to do whatever it takes to allow it to continue on its course for destruction - including throwing away his own life to attempt to slow down who and what he can while his brother deals with things behind the scenes.

"Hero" of Speed. Throughout his journeys, Blót has mastered techniques that can allow him to strike faster and faster than most can see - the best that anyone can notice are the sleek afterimages that slash in his wake. While his actions are not those of a hero, his strength and his training have paid off in exhilarating techniques that can reduce his enemies to nothing but a pile of finely-chopped goo.

Deranged Beyond Comprehension. Once upon a time, he had complete control over his thoughts - however, years upon years of constant bloodshed and merciless acts have rendered him nothing more than a psychotic mad man that is hells-bent on sending the world to its ruin - no matter what stands in his way.

Killer Without Conscience. While he can hide his derangement from others when not by himself or with his brother, he prefers to resort to dealing with things head-on with his hand on his blade and his strikes as swift as his thoughts. Given the chance, Blót would strike down the princess himself if it guaranteed him a leg up against those who would oppose him. Not even a shred of remorse remains in his mind for anything he does - all of his work has taken things too far for him to even think about such things anymore.
