Description

Seagull Aarakocra are a sub variant of Aarakocra that prefer the high seas of the Elemental Plane of Water to the endless skies of the Elemental Plane of Air.

Greedy, gluttonous, and yet as good-hearted as their brethren, seagull Aarakocra often serve as guides or as pirates in navigable waterways around the multiverse, either plying their service in exchange for food or becoming pirates to plunder “shinies”.

Seagull Aarakocra pirates are not as evil as their job title implies. Sure, they’ll steal from you, but they will leave enough supplies so that you make it back home, and they rarely kill unless they feel it’s necessary. Most are still quite pleasant to talk to, gossiping even while they loot you dry.

Seagull Aarakocra are rarely neutral or lawful, taking a chaotic stance on most things in life. As a result, they don’t fit in with society very well, and spend their lives as rogues outside of the law.

Seagull Aarakocra are one of the few Aarakocra species accepted in the Elemental planes of air and water equally, the only other ones being the Pelican Aarakocra and several other similar examples. Because they’re neutral parties, they’re a go-to for negotiations between the two planes.

Because their lives are often dangerous and they don’t have natural weapons, they carry daggers and slings at all times to defend themselves.

Seagull Aarakocra tend to live in massive colonies of thousands of hatchlings, with about one adult for every thirty or so hatchlings. Their parents rarely watch over them, with each adult serving as a guardian instead. Colonies can be as small as a few hundred to a hundred thousand. Seagull Aarakocra range in size from 4 feet to five and a half feet tall.
