Description
Blight Walker
Blight walkers are plant creatures spawned from the corpse of a humanoid. These creatures usually serve dark druids or evil fey, shambling along to do the will of their twisted masters. Blight walkers are often drawn to places of rot and decay. Blight walkers are seen by some druids to represent a natural cycle of nature, that of decay and rebirth, the old corpse springing to life as a new fungal creature. Others see blight walkers as an abomination that should be eradicated.
Carnivorous. Blight walkers gain sustenance by absorbing the flesh of rotting, deceased creatures or plants. The blight walker will remain still, its feet planted atop the corpse as it slowly causes the body to decompose, draining liquified nutrients as it does so. Many a mass grave has become a grove of feeding blight walkers, their fungal forms planting themselves in the bodies for days until they are satisfied.
Proliferators. Blight walkers spread by transforming the corpses of living humanoids. An infestation of blight walkers in a cemetery or the scene of a battlefield can result in a horde of blight walkers which is incredibly difficult to stamp out.
Wetland Dwellers. Blight walkers are normally averse to dry climates and are found most commonly in swamps, wetlands, dank subterranean chambers or other locations far from the heat of the sun.
