Natural Camouflage. The Amber Dragon wyrmling has advantage on Dexterity(Stealth) checks made to hide in rocky and woodland terrain.
Spider Climb. The Amber Dragon wyrmling can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Spellcasting(Psionics). The Dragon casts one of the following spells, requiring no spell components and using Intelligence as the spellcasting ability:
1/day each: detect thoughts, hypnotic pattern
Tunneler. The Dragon can burrow through solid rock at half its burrow speed, and can leave a 5-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7(1d10+2) piercing damage plus 2(1d4) force damage.
Sap Breath.(Recharge5-6). The Dragon exhales a blast of liquid resin in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 22(5d8) force damage and becomes encased in rapidly hardened amber for 1 minute. A creature encased in this amber has its speed reduced to 0. The amber has an AC of 15 and 5 hitpoints. A creature encased in the amber can break out of the amber on a DC 12 Athletics check, or by attacking the amber and reducing it to 0 hitpoints. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn't encased in amber.
Description
At the start of their development, Amber Dragon wyrmlings possess shining, warm, yellow-orange scales with the barest sheen of a gem to their quality, giving the illusion that the wyrmlings are made of pure amber. Each wyrmling also possesses a small, nub-like single horn at the end of their snouts, which will grow significantly more pointed and longer as they age. Amber Dragon wyrmlings are typically scavengers and opportunists flying from tree to tree on sail-like wings that trail all the way down to its tail, feeding on whatever they can get their jaws on, though they do have a preference for insects above anything else at this stage in their life, often found trapping insects within their sap. The sap-like breath of an Amber Dragon is produced inside a specialized gland within the creature, which hardens almost immediately upon contact with a solid surface, and the telltale signs of an Amber Dragon wyrmling's hunting grounds are the array of haphazard splotches of amber here and there. Wyrmlings are also often found around Elven or Druid communities, appreciating folk who have a close connection to the natural world.
