Traits

Soul-Forged Weaponry. Xardorok's weapon attacks are magical. When he hits with any weapon, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 necrotic damage (included in the attack), and he regains hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt.

Duergar Resilience. Xardorok has advantage on saving throws against poison, spells, and illusions, as well as to resist being charmed or paralyzed.

Innate Spellcasting. He can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

1/day each: levitate (self only), stoneskin (self only)

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, Xardorok has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Actions

Multiattack. Xardorok makes three melee attacks: two with his soul-forged Spiked Gauntlet and one with his soul-forged dagger.

Soul-Forged Spiked Gauntlet. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d8 + 5) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) necrotic damage.

Soul-Forged Chardalyn Fragment. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d4 + 5) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) necrotic damage.

Invisibility (Recharge 4–6). Xardorok magically turns invisible until he attacks, he casts a spell, he uses his Enlarge, or his concentration is broken (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment Xardorok wears or carries is invisible with him.

Reactions

Parry. Xardorok adds 2 to his AC against one melee attack that would hit him. To do so, Xardorok must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon.

Legendary Actions

Xardorok can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature's turn. Xardorok regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Attack. Xardorok makes one Soul-Forged Spiked Gauntlet attack or one Soul-Forged Chardalyn Fragment attack.

Move. Xardorok moves up to his speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Soul Drain (Costs 2 Actions). Xardorok targets one creature he can see within 30 feet of him. The target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 10 (3d6) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Xardorok regains hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt.

Description

Xardorok Sunblight, the Soul Reaver, once led the Sunblight clan of duergar in the subterranean depths beneath the Spine of the World. After his failed attempt to conquer Icewind Dale, Xardorok's bitterness and obsession with chardalyn drove him to the brink of madness.

In a dark descent fueled by rage, Xardorok sacrificed the souls of his former minions to imbue himself with sinister power. Now wielding weapons that hunger for the souls of the living, he focuses solely on exacting revenge upon those who thwarted his plans, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.

The tragic loss of his last surviving sons, Durth and Nildar, during his catastrophic campaign has only intensified Xardorok's madness and desire for retribution. As a fallen patriarch, he blames his enemies for the demise of his entire lineage.

With his sanity crumbling, Xardorok delves deeper into the dark arts, haunted by his failed conquest. Determined to avenge his defeat and the deaths of his children, he overcomes any obstacle in his path, using the souls of his enemies to fuel his ever-growing power and accelerate his descent into darkness.
