Traits

Anti memetic Hide. The alabaster hound cannot be perceived through traditional senses by creatures of Intelligence 5 or higher. It is invisible, silent, and scentless at all times to such a creature even if it is directly in front of them. The effects of the hound are visible: if it is mauling a sheep, it will appear as though the sheep is silently falling apart in bite sized chunks. Any creature that see's such an occurrence must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw when the hound leaves what would be their line of sight or forget of the occurrence. Truesight negates this ability.

Pack Tactics. The hound has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the hounds' allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack. The hound can attack once with a tickle and once with a bite.

Tickle. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) psychic damage and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw, forgetting the last 1d8 hours on a failed save.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Description

Alabaster hounds are arguably the most prolific and dangerous predators of intelligent humanoids there are thanks to their unique set of psionic adaptations. An alabaster hound looks like a pony sized muscular wolf with very short white fur and dexterous snout like a mole. Intelligent creatures will never see them, however. The hide of a hound clouds the senses and mind of sapient creatures to the point that they're undetectable to them which allows the monsters to comfortably walk crowded city streets and enter undefended homes. This power does not work on animals or creatures of equivalent intelligence so livestock, guard dogs, and golems can see them just fine which keeps them from predating on wizards but also causes them to kill pets prolifically. This adaptation to avoid detection also makes alabaster hounds poor predators in wild settings; wild game and monsters such as owlbears provide no end of trouble for the hounds. If attacked (which to an adventurer simply looks like attacking empty space) they can also cause amnesia with the fingerlike protrusions on their nose to confuse attackers.
