False Appearance. While the Pitcher is standing still, it looks like a normal plant.
Fear of Fire. The Pitcher can only receive the frightened condition when it is within 15 feet of a bright flame. While within 15 feet of a bright flame the Pitcher will try to create at least 10 feet of distance between itself and the flame.
Flammable. The gasses and stomach acid that the Pitcher secretes are highly flammable.
Sweet Scent. The Pitcher emits a sweet-smelling gas that causes all creatures in a 10 ft. radius to have disadvantage on checks against being charmed.
Multiattack. The Pitcher makes five attacks: one with its Gulp and up to four with its Vine Whip and Spit attacks. If it uses one of its Gas attacks it can also use its other Gas attack.
Vine Whip. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 20 ft., three targets. Hit: 9 (2d6 +3) bludgeoning damage. It can also use Vine Whip to drag itself 5 feet while uprooted.
Gulp. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. If it succeeds against a Medium or smaller target, the target is swallowed. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the Pitcher's stomach, and it takes 12 (4d6) acid damage and 12 (4d6) poison damage and receives the poisoned condition.
Spit. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 40 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (3d6 + 3) acid damage.
Charm Gas (Recharge 5-6). The Pitcher expels gas in a 20 ft. radius. All creatures in that radius must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed on a failed save.
Poison Gas (Recharge 4-6). The Pitcher expels gas in a 20 ft. radius. All creatures in that radius must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 9 (3d6) poison damage and receive the poisoned condition on a failed save, while taking half the damage and not being poisoned on a successful one.
Uproot. The Pitcher uproots itself and uses its roots as simple legs to move up to 20 ft., but its AC drops by 5 while uprooted.
Enroot. The Pitcher enroots itself and gains 5 AC, but it loses 20 ft. of movement while enrooted.
Description
A large carnivorous plant found in swamps and murky forests. It uses various gasses and acid that it creates to lure prey into its massive stomach, where it breaks them down with highly acidic and poisonous stomach acid. However, it has a strong aversion to fire, as both the acid and gas that the plant secretes are highly flammable. A common way to deal with them is to wait for their mouths to open and throw a torch or firebolt into the gaping maw, then watch the creature erupt into a glorious pillar of flame.
