Magic Resistance. The Avacato had advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Innate Spellcasting. The Avacato's innate spellcasting ability is [Wisdom] (spell save DC 13). It can instantly cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

Familiar. The Avacato can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magic, telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the Avacato senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the Avacato is within 10 feet of its companion, the companion share the Avacato's Magic Resistance trait. When a companion consumes the Avacato's edible Armour the healing is maximized. At any time and for any reason, the Avacato can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
Edible Armour (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). The Avacato grows an outer shell of fresh fruit. Until it sheds its shell, it gains a +2 bonus to AC, regenerates 1 hit point at the end of each of its turns and has resistance to piercing and slashing damage. While in the shell, the Avacato is blinded, its seed is 0 and can't increase, it has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws, it can't take reactions, and the only action it can take is a bonus action to shed its shell. Additionally, any creature that consumes the outer shell of fresh fruit once it has been shed regains 5 (2d4) hit points.
Scratch. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 2 (1d4 + 2) [slashing] damage.

Description
Avacatos appear to be the pip or stone of this creamy green fruit. They resemble cats, although their skin is hardened plant fibres with the resilience of wood. Their legs are tiny in comparison to their larger round bodies. They are able to curl into a perfect ball by flattening their ears.
Sweet Seeds. The avacato fruit grows on avacato trees, in warmer climates. When the fruit is ripe the Avacato inside the fruit will awaken and begin shaking the fruit loose from the branches. The fruit protects the Avacato inside from the fall, and then the Avacato sheds the fruit and consumes it. The Avacato is considered the larvae stage of the Avacato's lifespan and when it is ready it will plant itself. This allows the Avacato to eventually sprout and grow into an avacato tree. An Avacato tree is able to communicate with its fruit children, neutering them until they are able to leave the safety of its branches.
Mighty Meow. An avacato is a natural healer, able to restore health by creating food for itself and other creatures to provide nourishment. If the Avacato senses a predator, it often hides in its fruit shell. When threatened by a creature that is not fooled by it disguise, the Avacato has one last line of defence. When cornered the Avacato unleashes it's thunderously loud meow. Most creatures are startled by how something so little can generate such a loud noise.
