Jack of All Trades. The bardic student can add half their proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check they make that doesn’t already include their proficiency bonus.
Song of Rest. The bardic student can perform a song while taking a short rest. Any ally who hears the song regains an extra 1d6 hit points if it spends any Hit Dice to regain hit points at the end of that rest. The bardic student can confer this benefit on itself as well.
Spellcasting. The bardic student is a 3rd-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks). It has the following bard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): mage hand, vicious mockery
1st level (4 slots): charm person, healing word, sleep, thunderwave
2nd level (2 slots): invisibility, shatter
Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Taunt (2/Day). The bardic student can use a bonus action on its turn to target one creature within 30 feet of it. If the target can hear the bard, the target must succeed on a DC 13 Charisma saving throw or have disadvantage on ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws until the start of the bardic student’s next turn.
The bardic student can use one of these features (3/short rest). They regain any expended uses when they finish a short rest.
Cutting Words. Bardic Students have learned how to use their wit to distract, confuse, and otherwise sap the confidence and competence of others. When a creature that they can see within 60 feet of them makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, they can subtract 1d6 from the number rolled from the creature’s roll.
They choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before it's determined whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature deals its damage. The creature is immune if it can’t hear them or if it’s immune to being charmed.
Inspire. The bardic student can inspire others through stirring words or music. To do so, they choose one creature other than their-self within 60 feet of them who can hear them. That creature gains a 1d6 to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes.
