Traits

Grimm Sense. An Apathy knows the exact location of any other creature that is frightened within 60 ft. and the direction of any other creature that is frightened within 500 ft.

Grimm Nature. Due to its nature as a machine of destruction, creatures of grimm do not need to eat, drink, or sleep, but can if they choose to. If a creature of grimm dies, it and anything it was wearing or carrying turns to ash.

Aura of Apathy. Any creature that doesn't have the Grimm Nature trait that enters within 500 feet of an Apathy must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it gains 1 level of apathy up to a maximum of 1. This condition works the same as exhaustion. Any levels of exhaustion are counted separately from levels of apathy. While in an Aura of Apathy, a creature is automatically at the level of apathy equal to its level of exhaustion. While inside the Aura, the creature repeats the saving throw every hour. If the Apathy hasn't been seen, the creature is unaware that anything is happening. If a creature leaves the Aura, they no are no longer affected and are aware that something was affecting them.

Actions

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) slashing damage.

Screech (Recharge 6). The Apathy screeches, affecting creatures without the Grimm Nature trait that can hear it within 60 feet. Creatures must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they move to the next stage of from Aura of Apathy. If this brings their level of apathy to 1, they stay at that level until they remove it as normal. Otherwise, it lasts until the end of the Apathy's next turn.

Description

Unlike the other creatures of grimm, the Apathy don't chase and violently attack their prey. They travel in large herds and drain the willpower of those unfortunate enough to encounter them. They can then slowly walk up to their victim and kill it without any trouble. Even if the Apathy are unable to reach their prey, their victims eventually become so apathetic that they don't care about eating and starve to death.

Managed to get two away from their pack. Hike back was miserable, but got the bastards in the cellar. Wife thinks I was out sealing the waterways. I'll do it tomorrow and tell her the truth once these things take the edge off of everyone.

I'm tired.
