Traits

Ambusher. In the first round of combat, the Bone Raptor has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised.

Death Sense. The Bone Raptor always knows the location of any undead creature within 1 mile of it.

Death Eater. If the Bone Raptor makes an attack against an Undead creature, it can make an additional Bite attack against that creature as a bonus action.

Hooked Claws. At the start of its turn, any creature grappled by the Bone Raptor takes 2d6 piercing damage.

Keen Hearing and Smell. The Bone Raptor has advantage on Wisdom(Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Necrotic Adaptation. The Bone Raptor's hit point maximum cannot be reduced.

Pounce. If the Bone Raptor moves at least 20ft straight toward a creature and hits it with a Claw attack on the same turn, the target must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked Prone. If the target is Prone, the Bone Raptor can make one Bite attack against it on the same turn.

Pack Tactics. The Bone Raptor has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of its allies is within 5ft of it and the ally isn't Incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack: The Bone Raptor makes three attacks, one with its Bite and two with its Claws.

Bite: Melee weapon attack, +4 to hit, reach 5ft, one target. Hit 7(1d8+2) piercing damage.

Claw: Melee weapon attack, +4 to hit, reach 5ft, one target. Hit 6(1d6+2) slashing damage and the target is grappled(escape DC 12). The Bone raptor can only grapple one creature at a time and it cannot make any Claw attacks against any other creature.

Description

When it comes to carrion eaters, Rhymorra offers plenty. One example is the better known Skull Drake, hiding amongst the bones of its ill-gotten prey and striking like a snake. A lesser known carrion eater is the Bone Raptor. Similar to Rhymorra's Blood Raptor, they are both the same size and share similar characteristics. However, the Bone Raptor's primary meal is carrion and undead, whilst the Blood Raptor prefers to hunt live prey. Bone Raptors have evolved to digest meat even after the creature has died, making a battle against undead lethal for the undead. Nocturne and his commanders tend to steer clear of Bone Raptor nests as they will lose a lot of troops at the claws of just one Bone Raptor.
