Description
Shade of Akama is literally the shade of Akama (created as a monster in another page linked below), imprisoned by Illiadan Stormrage to costrict Akama to obey at his oders. Normally is the third boss of the Black Temple but can switched equally with Teron Gorefiend, Gurtogg Bloodboil or Reliquary of Souls. The fight is divided into two phases:
- The first one is the liberation of the Shade. The shade is chuckled by 6 Ashtongue Channelers that they stay in poisition for the channelling (no attack, no skills, no movement). They are positioned in an hexagon around the Shade of Akama. While those channelers are alive, mobs will spawn from the 2 portals (more detail in the lair section). Akama will partecipate to this fight as a party member but doing less to nothing.
- The second part is when the Shade will freed, the shade must be killed fast before Akama dies. Akama will partecipate to this fight as an active party member. Shade only hits Akama and when the Shade is defeated all adds that are still alive will die immediately.
If Akama dies, the party is considered defeated. All the damage done by Shade of Akama or its minions is considered as from magical weapons.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Shade of Akama's takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects:
- Portal Spawns: Until all six Ashtongue Channelers are defeated, portals will spawn a total of 4 adds. One will always be the Ashtongue Defender, the other three will be chosen randomly between Ashtongue Defender, Ashtongue Rogue, Ashtongue Elementalist, Ashtongue Spiritbinder and Ashtongue Channeler. Check the Monster sheet for the ability and stats of each one, roll new initative for the new creatures, they enter immediatly in the combat and as soon as they come out from the portals, they do a standard movement. If none of the Ashtongue Channeller is dead, no more Ashtongue Channeler can be summoned (six maximum).
Regional Effects
The region containing a legendary Illidan Stormrage’s lair (Black Temple) is wicked by his evil power, which creates the following effects:
- There is an everlasting night
- Some violet thunder will be created out of nowhere hitting items for 4 (1d8) lightning damage. The items cannot be destroyed by the thunder. Can hit also creature that stands near or on top of the items, but not the various demons in the region. Only works outdoor.
If Illidan Stormrage dies, these effects fade over the course of 2 years.
