Astral Duck

Astral ducks may seem like innocent creatures on the outside, swimming or doing whatever ducks do on the Astral Sea, but there is in fact a dark secret behind them. Astral ducks are creatures of chaos and war, constantly warring between the various tribes that exist in the Astral Plane. There are very few instances of astral ducks renouncing their ways of violence, as it is so engrained in their way of life.

The great tribes wander the Astral Plane, in search of food and lands to settle - often taken by force from another tribe of astral ducks. Indeed, it has been said that they believe themselves to be the ultimate power on the plane, perceiving most other sentient species to be beneath them. They can understand common, but refuse to speak it.

Many astral duck organisations have deeper, darker roots than one would imagine. It is not widely recorded - though there is enough anecdotal evidence to support the theory - that astral ducks can indeed speak Primordial. It would appear that they have some strange link to these ancient beings, whether they worship eldritch gods from before time itself, or they merely dabble in ancient magicks it cannot be said.

Nonetheless these creatures are not to be feared, they are usually far too preoccupied in their devastating civil wars than to unite against the other races of the Astral Plain, but who knows what the future may hold.
