Innate Spellcasting. The Web Weaver's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma(spell save DC 18). The Web Weaver can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
- At will: Hypnotic Pattern, Skywrite, Spider Climb, Suggestion, Web.
- 3/day each: Clairvoyance, Sending, Silence.
- 1/day each: Legend Lore, Locate Creature, Modify Memory.
Keen Hearing. The Web Weaver has advantage on Wisdom(Perception) checks that rely on hearing.
Magic Resistance. The Web Weaver has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Magic Weapons. The Web Weaver's weapon attacks are magical.
Spider Climb. The Web Weaver can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the Web Weaver knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Walker. The Web Weaver ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Multiattack: The Web Weaver makes two Bite attacks. She can substitute one of these Bite attacks for a Web attack.
Bite: Melee weapon attack, +7 to hit, reach 5ft, one target. Hit 12(2d8+3) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, taking 13(3d8) poison damage plus 9(2d8) psychic damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison or psychic damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but Poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is Charmed by the Web Weaver while Poisoned in this way.
Web(Recharge 5-6): Ranged weapon attack, +7 to hit, range 30/60ft, one target. Hit: the target is Restrained by webbing. As an action, the Restrained target can make a DC 18 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked(AC 12, HP 8, vulnerability to fire damage, immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage).
Change Shape: The Web Weaver magically polymorphs into a medium humanoid that has a challenge rating no higher than her own, into a tiny Spider, or back into her true form. She reverts to her true form if she dies. Any equipment she is wearing or carrying is absorbed or borne by the new form(her choice). In a new form, she retains her alignment, hit points, hit dice, ability to speak, proficiencies, languages, traits, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores, as well as this action. Her statistics and capabilities are otherwise replaced by those of the new form, except any class features or legendary actions of that form.
Cocoon: The Web Weaver begins to cocoon a target that is Charmed by her or a willing creature. The Web Weaver can produce enough webbing to cover one Medium or smaller creature. For each size category larger than medium, the Web Weaver must use her next turn to continue cocooning the victim(2 for large, 3 for huge, and 4 for gargantuan). A creature that is completely wrapped in the webbing cannot break free and must rely on others to remove the webs. If a creature is completely covered in webbing, it must make a successful DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be placed in a state of magical suspended animation for 1d4 + 12 days. During this time, the creature does not need food or water. The cocoon can be attacked and destroyed(AC 18, HP 30, immunity to bludgeoning, psychic, and poison damage).
Description
Web Weavers are guardians of the jungles and deep caverns of Rhymorra, sometimes working with Tveskali to protect those areas from harm. Their base form is a Giant Spider, but they can shift into either a small Spider or into a medium female humanoid. If they are wary or receive an indicator of a potential threat to nature, they typically shift into their humanoid form to find information about the threat. If it is a Monster, they typically ask for assistance from Primordial Elementals to help deter it. If it is a Humanoid, the Web Weaver will take it upon herself to remove that humanoid from existence. She will first change shape into her humanoid form, then subtly bite her target while locked in a kiss. She then will shift into her Giant Spider form and cocoon her target and take them back to her lair, where they hang for days before the Web Weaver either decides to let the humanoid go or decides to leave them in the deep caverns as food for the other spiders of Rhymorra. Web Weavers are all female and some call them the "Driders of Rhymorra", but they only do so to protect nature. Elise and Evelyn respect Web Weavers greatly and don't attack them unless they have a valid reason to.
