Water Breathing. The wave runner can breathe only underwater.
Long Breach. If the wave runner moves 30 feet in a straight line, it can leap 20 feet vertically out of the water and travel 40 feet above the surface before landing.
Charge. If the wave runner moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a sword nose attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 9 (2d8) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet in a straight line, and knocked prone.
Multiattack. The wave runner can make two attacks: one with its tail and one with its sword nose.
Sword Nose. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Description
Wave Runners are large swordfish that have developed the ability to leap out of the water to hunt. They leap over a ship, impaling whoever they can see above deck, trying to use their mass and speed to push their victims overboard. Some have even learned to attack sails to immobilize ships.
