Ethereal Form. The Aethergeist can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Invisibility. The Aethergeist can turn invisible as a bonus action. It remains invisible until it attacks or until its concentration is broken (e.g., by taking damage).
Electric Shield. The Aethergeist is surrounded by an electric field, granting it resistance to lightning damage and causing 5 (1d10) lightning damage to any creature that hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet. The field is destroyed after the Aethergeist suffered 30 points of damage. It doesn't absorb any damage though (other than lightning).
Lightning Burst. Ranged Spell Attack: +6 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) lightning damage.
Electrified Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) lightning damage.
Description
Looks: The Aethergeist appears as a swirling vortex of crackling energy, radiating a faint blue light. Within the core of the vortex, sparks of electricity dance and arc. It is an ethereal and mesmerizing sight, with no discernible physical form or features.
Characteristics: A mysterious being born from the convergence of elemental energies, the Aethergeist embodies the volatile and unpredictable nature of the ethereal realm. It moves with a grace and fluidity that defies physical boundaries, shifting effortlessly between the material and ethereal planes. The Aethergeist is inherently curious and drawn to sources of arcane energy, often appearing near areas of intense magical power.
Environment: Aethergeists are most commonly encountered near areas where the barriers between planes are thin, such as ancient ruins, or sites of powerful arcane rituals. They are known to be drawn to magical artifacts and places of great mystic significance. They are rarely found in settled areas, as their existence is closely tied to the raw and untamed forces of the planes.
Lore: Legends speak of the Aethergeist as beings of pure magic, formed when a surge of elemental energy merges with the essence of the ethereal plane. They are often regarded as omens of great change or catalysts for arcane events. Some sages believe that encountering an Aethergeist can grant fleeting glimpses into the secrets of the multiverse or bestow a surge of arcane insight upon those who are receptive.
