Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the Wendigo has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Actions

Multiattack. The Wendigo makes four Scratch attacks or one Scratch attack and two bite attacks. It can use its Life Drain in place of one Scratch attack.

Life Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) necrotic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Scratch.  Melee weapon attack: +4, The wendigo makes an unarmed strike against the nearest living thing. On a hit the target takes 2d4 necrotic damage and 1d4 slashing damage.

Bite.  Melee weapon attack: +3, The Wendigo makes a bite attack against the nearest living thing. On a hit, the bite deals 2d4 necrotic damage and 2d4 piercing damage. The target becomes poisoned until someone casts a healing spell on them (the poison won't naturally heal).

Horrific Howl. Ranged attack, recharge: 6, Each non-undead creature within 50 feet must make a DC17 wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the Wendigo for 1d4 turns.

(2) Rending Howl. Ranged attack, The Wendigo releases a destructive howl which lacerates all living tissue around it. All creatures within 30ft around make a DC 16 wisdom saving throw, they take 3d8 psychic damage and are frightened of the Wendigo. They are frightened until they succeed the saving throw which they can repeat at the start of each turn. On a success they take half damage and are not frightened.

(3) Swamp Fire, the Wendigo releases a 60ft cone of green flame from its mouth. All creatures caught in the the flame must make a DC17 dexterity saving throw or take 4d6 necrotic damage and 4d10 cold damage and are stunned. On a success they take half damage and are not stunned.

(1) Life Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) necrotic damage. (1) Detect, The Wendigo makes a perception check to look for living or magical objects and beings. If it succeeds against their stealth rolls then it knows their exact locations.

(3) Muddy Transformation, The Wendigo takes 6d6 necrotic damage and gains the following benefits which last forever. Rending Transformation can only ever be used once. The Wendigos arm bones split giveing it a double jaw and skull, four arms, and its ribs shiver and begin to chew like a knife. It gains the following legendary actions and an extra two legendary actions:

  • (1) Rending Ribs, Melee attack, +3, on a hit target takes 4d4 slashing damage and 2d4 necrotic damage
  • (3) Lacerating Scratches, Melee attack, +3, The wendigo makes eight scratch attacks
  • (4) Screech of enfeeblement, ranged attack, All living creatures within 60ft make a DC 17 wisdom check, then they are frightened of the Wendigo for 1d4 turns. All actions involving rolling have a -3 for as long as they are frightened. While frightened they also take 2d4 necrotic damage. On a success they are frightened for the d4 divided by 2 and don't take the damage, but they still have the -3 penalty.

Description

Born from a curse long ago, the Wendigo is a malicious undead monster who will end the living and Obsorb their corpses into itself to become stronger. They inhabit swampy areas where they were killed building a lair in a place rich with magical remnants and residue. They are typically created when a druid or wizard with a deep connection to both nature, and death. They usually worship and show devotion to Sythra and Telyrrn. The corruption that powers the Wendigo's body is an abomination to Telyrrn and all living things. Cursed to hunt down all living things within it's domain, the Wendigo seeks and destorys all living things.
