Actions

Multiattack: The drake makes two attacks, one with its Bite and one with its Tail.

Bite: Melee weapon attack, +7 to hit, reach 10ft, one target. Hit 11(2d6+4) piercing damage plus 3(1d6) lightning damage.

Tail: Melee weapon attack, +7 to hit, reach 10ft, one target. Hit 8(1d8+4) bludgeoning damage.

Lightning Ball(Recharge 5-6): The Water Drake spits a ball of lightning toward a target it can see within 120ft of it. The ball then causes lightning bolts to arc from the first target to up to three other targets of the drake's choice within 30ft of the first target. Each creature or object can only be targeted once by this ability. Each target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21(6d6) lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. If a target's saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is also Paralyzed until the end of its next turn.

Description

"It was a foggy night that night, I was sent to keep watch as we sailed on, searching for a Sea Drake mount for Hashasha, the captain's daughter. When I looked over to port side, I noticed something; glowing blue spines rising up from the water and moving at high speeds towards us. I tried to wake everyone up, but the creature barreled through the Drakehunter, slicing the ship in two. The creature reared its head between the wreckage and stared at me. At that moment, I knew what it was. We were in Sea Drake territory, but this wasn't a Sea Drake; it was a Water Drake." - Jakri, Leviakin survivor of the Drakehunter incident.

Water Drakes and Sea Drakes are both descended from the great Leviathan along with the Leviakin. However, there are differences between the two. Water Drakes have black to midnight blue bodies with spines glowing blue in the night, while Sea Drakes have white bodies with dark blue spines. Water Drakes, unlike Sea Drakes, spit concentrated spheres of electricity at their prey, which can hit multiple other creatures if they are close enough. Water Drakes are considered the next step when Leviakin are training young to practice riding, typically using a Sea Drake mount to locate a Water Drake. Water Drakes can be found deep underwater, where finding them via their bioluminescence is very easy. It is then a matter of harassing the drake to pursue the Leviakin to the surface before they capture and tame it.

Water Drakes have many fights with creatures of the deep seas of Rhymorra, such as Deep Spawn and Almush Murlocs that wish to hunt them, as Water Drake meat provides a stimulating effect when consumed.
