Acolyte Scepter. Any spells of 3rd level or lower cast by the acolyte have the magnitude of their effects doubled (fireball does double damage, mage armor makes Armor Class 16 + Dex, etc.) Alternatively, the acolyte can choose any metamagic effect to apply to the spell.

Magic Expertise. The acolyte possesses a 2nd or 6th level ability from any wizard subclass, which can be picked randomly or chosen by the DM.

Magic Items. At the DM's discretion, the acolyte may be given additional magic items. Alternatively, roll a d8 to determine which item it gets.

Spellcasting. The acolyte is a 20th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 22, +14 to hit with spell attacks). The acolyte has the following wizard spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, chill touch, mage hand, prestidigitation, mind sliver

1st level (4 slots): detect magic, shield, mage armor*, chromatic orb, hideous laughter

2nd level (3 slots): detect thoughts, mirror image, shatter, hold person

3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, fly, fireball, slow, fear
