Detect Evil and Good. The bog monster magically senses the presence of any good or evil-aligned creatures within 100ft of it and where it's located. Similarly, it knows if a place or object within 100ft of it has been magically desecrated. The effect can penetrate most barriers, but it's blocked by 1ft of stone, an inch of heavy metal or 3ft of wood or dirt.
Keen Smell. The bog monster has advantage on Perception checks made to smell.
Limited Magic Immunity. The bog monster can't be affected or detected by 6th-level or lower spells cast by good or evil creatures unless it wishes to be. It has advantage on saves against all other spells and magic effects, regardless of the caster's alignment.
Multiattack. The bog monster makes three attacks: one with its horns and two with its claws.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) slashing damage.
Horns. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 5) piercing damage. If the bog monster moves at least 10ft straight toward the target and then hits it with this attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 2d8 piercing damage.
Necrotic Touch (3/Day). The bog monster touches a creature and forces it to make a DC 14 Constitution save, taking 4d8 necrotic damage on a failure or half as much on a success.
Description
A massive and shaggy creature, a cross between an elephant and a boar, this bog monster stands tall, towering over most other creatures at 9 to 11ft, and is recognizable by its trunk and sharp tusks.
The origins of the bog monster are shrouded in mystery, as it appears to be a solitary creature and lacks any means of reproducing. No one ever saw more than one of these at a time, and their existence remains a great mystery. Some believe the bog monster may be a remnant of an ancient species long since extinct, while other creatures see it as a magical construct created by ancient sorcerers.
