Amphibious. - Barinade can breathe air and water.
Bari Barrier. - The Barinade's main body is made up of five Bari.
While the Bari are alive, Barinade has advantage on saving throws, takes half damage from non-magical attacks, and can only use its Bari whirlwind action. Every time Barinade accumulates 10 damage before the end of the round, one of its Bari dies.
If all of the Bari die, Barinade becomes stunned until the end of its next turn and does not gain the benefits of regeneration or it's electric shield. At the end of this turn, Barinade immediately uses its lightning blast action and regain all 5 Bari and reactives both Bari Barrier and Electric Shield.
Regeneration – At the start of each of Barinade’s turns if it has all 5 bari up it regains 25 hit points. For every Bari down it regains 5 fewer hit points.
Electric Shield. - When hit with a melee attack, Barinade's electrical shield deals (1d4) lightning damage to the attacking creature.
Boomerang Weakness– Bari Barrier doesn’t affect boomerang damage. On a hit Barinade must make a DC 15 Constitution save or its speed is reduced to 0 and any remaining bari attached to it are immediately pushed away 30ft from the main body and begin to rotate around it, creating a 30ft radius energy field that deals 1d6 lightning damage to any hostile creature that starts or enters the field on its turn.. While away from the Barinade’s body, the Bari have 1Hp, Ac of 16 and 10 in every stat. In addition if the Boomerang hits Barinade with its Bari Barrier down the hit is an automatic critical hit.
Bari Whirlwind. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., all targets in range. Hit: (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus (1d6) lightning damage.
Lightning Blast. Ranged Spell Save: DC 13 Dex Sv half on success, range 30 ft., up to three targets. (2d6) lightning damage and the target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be stunned for 1 round.
Description
Barinade is a parasitic lifeform that grew inside of the Zora deity Lord Jabu-Jabu. Jabu-Jabu is a gargantuan fish-like entity that the Zora's worship as the embodied spirit of the seas. In his plot to obtain the Triforce, the Dark Lord Ganondorf attempted to capture the Zora's spiritual stone, the Zora's Sapphire. He was refused by King Zora XVI and in an act of vengeance placed a curse on Jabu-Jabu. Barinade grew inside the fish-god, infesting his insides and causing him great pain.
Barinade resembles a large jellyfish-like creature that is anchored to the inside of Jabu-Jabu. It is connected by a series of tentacles that worked their way deep into Jabu-Jabu's body. Although it appears to be an individual organism, it is in fact a colonial lifeform, with many smaller Bari jellyfish comprising a large portion of its main body. When the Hero of Time (aided by King Zora's daughter, the Princess Ruto) destroyed Barinade, Jabu-Jabu was calmed and the Zora people awarded the hero with the spiritual stone.
