Charge. If the boar moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 3 (1d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the boar takes 17 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.

Actions

Tusk. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.

Petrifying Breath (Recharge 5–6). The Boargon exhales petrifying gas in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a target begins to turn to stone and is restrained. The restrained target must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn. On a success, the effect ends on the target. On a failure, the target is petrified until freed by the greater restoration spell or other magic.

Description

Few creatures that encounter a Boargon live to tell about it. Its body is covered partially in knotted bone plates, and its nostrils fume with green vapor.

Putrescent Structure. A Boargon’s bone plates range from snow white to yellowed brown, but this natural armor in no way hinders its movement or mobility. The oils of its body lubricate the armor. A sick or inactive gorgon gathers pustules like fungus or mange. When a pustulent gorgon moves, its plates spurt as they rub together.

Terrifying Predator. When a Boargon spots potential prey, it charges with a hideous piercing squeal of hunger. When the gorgon hits, it pulverizes the foe and sends it sprawling, then tramples it to death with its cruel hooves. Faced with multiple foes, the Boargon exhales its deadly vapor to overcome the creatures it touches by turning them to stone. When it grows hungry, it smashes its petrified prey to rubble and uses its strong teeth to grind the stone into a powder that provides nourishment. The crisscrossing network of trampled trails and splintered trees that surrounds a Boargon lair is strewn with the uneaten fragments of its shattered foes.
