Magic Resistance. Alicras has advantage on saving throws against any spells and magical effects.
Master of Magic. Alicras has advantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration.
High Demon. Alicras doesn’t need air, food, drink, sleep, or similar neceseties instead he feeds on the emotions and souls of mortals to fuel his emence power and emortality.
Soul Devourer. If a creature dies within 70 ft. of Alicras or if a dead creature that hasn't been dead for more than 10d6 minutes gets inside the same range then he can consume their soul as a bonus action or reaction (depending on who's turn they died on or got in range on). Alicras then regains hitpoints equel to that targets lv/cr times 3 (and temp hitpoints if extra remain) and he regains expended spell(s) which compined levels equel the lv/cr of the dead creature or lower (if he is missing any). If Alicras is not killed before 2d6 hours after comsuming a soul the soul is lost forever, cannont be resurected and never passes on to the afterlife. Otherwise The soul is released and funtions as normal.
Regeneration. Alicras regains 20 hitpoints at the start of his turn. This trait doesn't activate if he has 0 hitpoints left.
Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If Alicras fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Multiattack. Alicras uses his "frightful presence" and then makes four attacks with "Moon Weapon Attack (either one but no combiation)".
Moon Weapon Attack (Melee). Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (1d10 + 15) radient damage.
Moon Weapon Attack (Ranged). Ranged Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 80 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (1d10 + 15) radient damage.
Frightful Presence. Each creature of Alicras' choice that is within 120 feet of him and aware of his presence must succeed on a DC 27 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to Alicras' Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Dream Mist (Recharge 5–6). Alicras releases the smoke within his body shrinking to medium size (When the abillty is recharhced it means that he is back to original size) and seemingly eraseing the line between reallity and dream. The smoke spreads covering an an area 100 ft. wide and 30 ft. high formed as a cylinder centered on Alicras. Each creture trapped in the area must make a DC 24 Constitution saving throw, taking 70 (15d6) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Afterwards the smoke fuctions as a large scale darkness spell though with the following modifications:
- Alicras and Alicras alone can use his senses normaly in the smoke.
- Any other creature can see, hear, and smell in a 20 foot radius but nothing more.
- Alicras can make any illusion appear within the smoke using both sound, smell and images to make them realistic (no action requried) and he can make them look as if they are moving naturaly (also no action requried). These illusions can be used as drestractions and at the DMs drection even frighten others but they can't hurt anyone. There is no limet to how many times Alicras can do this or how many illusion that can hapen at once. The illusions can also make the surroundings appear diffrent.
- Alicras can magicly see anything going on within the smoke.
- The smoke moves together with Alicras remaining centered on him.
The smoke dissapears after 24 hours, after Alicras dismisses it as an action, or after somone dispels it using dispel magic (lv 6) or the wish spell and all the illusions dissapear with it. Alicras can't use "Dream smoke" more that once at a time and it may only recharge after having dissapeared.
Possesion (Recharge 6–6). Alicras atempts to posses a creature within 60 ft. The creature must make a DC 23 Wisdom savingthrow or be possed. At the end of each of it's turns turn or when the creature takes damge it can atempt the saving throw again. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it (fx when Alicras leaves), the creature becomes immune to Alicras' "Possesion" for the next 24 hours. While possesing a creature, Alicras retains his alignment, ability to speak, proficiencies, Legendary Resistance, condition immunities, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores, as well as the ability to leave the body. He also retains his spells and "Innate Spellcasting". His statistics and capabilities are otherwise replaced by those of the new form, except any class features, spells or legendary actions of that form. Alicras can spend 1 hour (fx a shortrest) going through the hoast's memories and futher gain all their knwdlege, profisiencies, classfeatures and spells which he keeps until leaving the hoast. Any damge he takes is instead transfered to the hoast. If the hoeast dies then it is buned to ash revealing Alicras. Psichic damge has no effect oneither alicras nor the hoast.
Nightmare Teller (Recharges after a Long Rest). Alicras summons the power of darkness from the most terryfing parts of the dream plane and releases it onto his foes. Each creature within a 40 - 1000 ft. wide and 20 - 500 ft. high cylinder (Alicras' choice) centered on Alicras (one of his four tiles since he's large) must succed on a DC 27 Dexterity saving throw or take 78 (12d12) necrotic damage and be nocked prone and half as much damge on a succesful on without being nocked prone. The area affected is afterwards difficult terrain for anyone but Alicras.
Weapons of the Moon. As a bonus action Alicras can create up to two weapons out of thin air. This could be a bow and an arrow (arrows and amunition only count as 1/7 weapon(s) so he can actually make 7 of those as one weapon), a spear and a shield (a shield counts as a weapon of the moon) or simply one big twohanded great sword. The weapon(s) appeas in his hand or at his feet (his choice) and uses the statistics that it would normally have but it deals 1d10+15 radient damage (his choice) instead of its normal damage and has a plus 2 on attack rolls. The weapon dissapears in a cloud of white smoke after three hours unless Alicras decidetes to prolong it's existance by another three hour (no action required). The weapons are magical for the purpose of overcomming resistances and Alicras is always proficent with weapons made this way.
Alicras can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Alicras regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Attack (Costs 1 Action). Alicras makes two attacks with his "Moon Weapon Attack (either one but no combiation)".
Dense Mist (Costs 3 Actions). This legendary action can only be used if "Dream Mist" is in play. Alicras atempts to cause the smoke to copletlely surround any creature within it. Every creature in the smoke exept for Alicras must make a DC 22 Dexterity savingthrow or be surrounded by the smoke. Creatures who have been surrounded reamain in this way until the end of that their next turn. While surrounded the creatures are efectivly blinded, deafened and can't smell. If the creature enters the vision area of another creature who isn't surrounded they simply limit that creatures vision but if they leave the area of the mist completly then they will no longer be surrounded.
Description
Apperance:
Alicras, the formidable moon demon, manifests in a truly imposing and awe-inspiring form that leaves others in a state of fear and reverence. Standing tall above all, Alicras possesses an immense stature that instills a sense of dread and demands respect. His colossal frame naturally draws attention and commands obedience.
Alicras possesses a humanoid body, resembling ordinary flesh, yet composed of a dense, white smoke that occasionally takes on a black hue. This ethereal smoke serves as the counterpart to the sand used by the Sandman in the realm of dreams. Remarkably, Alicras' smoke body functions much like that of a regular human, enabling him to touch and interact with the physical world.
One notable feature of Alicras' body is the striking contrast it exhibits. The lower portion is enveloped in a pristine white shade that gradually transitions to a deep black tone from the stomach upwards. This unique coloration significantly influences the attire of his minions and servants, who predominantly wear white garments, occasionally incorporating black. The distinct division of colors creates a visual dichotomy that further enhances Alicras' imposing presence.
Resting atop Alicras' head are a pair of massive, intricately curved horns that project an aura of primal dominance. These imposing horns add an extra layer of grandeur to an already formidable visage, highlighting Alicras' connection to otherworldly power.
In the center of Alicras' face lies a singular eye—a vivid ruby of immense size. This crimson gem acts as both a focal point and a conduit for his supernatural abilities, radiating an otherworldly intensity. It is through this eye that Alicras gazes upon the mortal realm, surveying and influencing the dreams and nightmares of those he encounters.
Alicras' countenance is predominantly plain black, serving as a backdrop for the captivating ruby. This simple yet striking feature emphasizes the intensity and power encapsulated within the demon's presence. Flames dance and flicker atop his head, symbolizing his association with fire and the fiery glow of the moon.
In summary, Alicras embodies an intimidating and awe-inspiring presence. With his massive form, contrasting colors, formidable horns, and the captivating ruby eye at the center of his face, he commands both respect and fear. His smoky composition renders him impervious to most forms of harm, except for his vulnerable eye, which serves as the key to weakening his supernatural might.
Lair and Lair Actions
Alicras' lair is Anywhere with monlight where he is present (the moon light can be somwhat opscured but not completly) or while he is in "Dream Mist".
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Alicras takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Alicras can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- "Dream Mist" takes place without Alicras having to use an action (only relevant if the lair is the moonlight).
- The mist envelopes Alicras and turns him completely invisible until the end of his next turn. More specificly he is under the effects of greater invisibility. The mist also mask his precence by making sound of his voice, footsteps, and similar apear to be comming from diffren locations (one at a time).
- The mist desturps magic by making the entire area work as an antimagic field spell which only Alicras is unafected by until the start of the next round.
Regional Effects
The region containing Alicras' lair is covered in a mystic white fog seemingly housing strange beasts and evil in abondence , which creates the following effects:
- White fairly dense fog extents from the center of Alicras' lair and 10.000 feet in every direction.
- Strange nightmare like creates seem to appear in the fog from time to time but they can't hurt anyone and dissapear before you can reach them.
If Alicras dies, these effects fade over the course of 3d6 days if they where caused by moonlight and 3d6 minutes if they where caused by "Dream Mist".
