Incorporeal Movement. The Wailing Shade can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the spectre has a disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom Perception checks that rely on sight.
Ethereal Sight. The Wailing Shade can see 60 feet into the Ethereal Plane when it is on the Material Plane, and vice versa.
Chilling Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) necrotic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Ethereal Jaunt (Recharge 4-6). As a bonus action, the Wailing Shade can magically shift from the Material Plane to the Ethereal Plane, or vice versa. While on the Ethereal Plane, it is invisible and can pass through creatures and objects, but it cannot affect or be affected by them.
Spectral Wail (Recharge 5-6). The Wailing Shade releases a terrifying wail. Each creature of its choice within 30 feet of it must make a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of its next turn. A creature that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to the Wailing Shade's Spectral Wail for the next 24 hours.
