Necrotic Absorption. Whenever the bloodvine is subjected to necrotic damage, it takes no damage and regains a number of hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt.
Multiattack. The shambling mound makes two slam attacks. If both attacks hit a Medium or smaller target, the target is grappled (escape DC 14), and the bloodvine uses Life Drain on it.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Life Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) necrotic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a Long Rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
