Description
Bonecrackers are solitary, carnivorous dodo-like birds with just enough intelligence to regard every living thing around them with absolute hatred. They wouldn’t be much of a threat if not for their exceedingly powerful beak and kick, both of which are strong enough to break bone. A bonecracker’s genome is very unstable, allowing it to adapt to its environment within mere seconds. Its powerful legs also mean that it can easily outrun a human.
A typical bonecracker has downy feathers patterned like a leopard, although some have white instead of yellow in response to a colder climate, and yellow eyes full of malice, even after the bird dies. Bonecrackers are able to stomach every part of an animal, including the skeleton. They are apex predators, if only because their nasty tempers induce fear in every other creature.
