Actions

Multiattack. The dragon can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 feet of the dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Breath Weapons (Recharge 5–6). The dragon uses one of the following breath weapons.

Lightning Breath. The dragon exhales lightning in a 90- foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 66 (12d10) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Repulsion Breath. The dragon exhales repulsion energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 19 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is pushed 60 feet away from the dragon.

Chromatic Breath. The bookish dragon has learned how to meld the spell effects of chromatic orb into its damaging breath attack (i.e fire, acid, cold, etc). The dragon may choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder to add 3d8 damage of that source to their breath attack.

Legendary Actions

Spark of Luck.  The bookish Dragon has learned beyond traditional arcane magic, and has found ways to bed it's luck. if the bookish dragon has previously failed on a roll to recharge their breath attack it may roll again.

Description

The good-aligned metallic dragons spend their years pursuing various aims, from gaining rank in humanoid society to gathering the most priceless artifacts and art. They are generally good, altruistic creatures; worshipping Bahamut whom they regard as their king. However, some dedicate their lives to scouring the literature of humanoids, searching for new artifacts or a higher understanding of arcane, divine, or natural magics.

Trained Mind. These dragons tend to have less physical prowess, compensated for by expanded magical abilities. Upon first inspection, it may seem that they are weaker compared to their more traditional counterparts, yet their combat abilities can be surprising to unknowing threats.

Isolated Hermits. Bookish dragons aren't seen among the social elite, or taking part in nobility or government. They have created their lair away (though not too far) from civilization. They will leave their lair, embarking on long treks to search for new and exotic reads.
Notes:
The damage from Chromatic Breath is added on to the the base breath attack by the metallic dragon. Do not use all the dragon's legendary actions attempting to recharge their breath. It is suggested to use it once and save the other two for damaging abilities.
