Multiattack. The Vaal Mazios can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes one Tail attack and two Claw attacks. It can't make a Tail attack against the same target it used a Claw attack on.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack. +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage plus 5 (1d10) fire damage.
Breath Weapons (Recharge 5-6). The Vaal Mazios uses one of the following breath weapons:
- Fire Breath. The Vaal Mazios exhales fire in a 90-foot line that is 5-feet wide. Each creature in that area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 55 (10d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Change shape. As an action Vaal Mazio magically polymorphs into a humanoid, beast or dragon of the same heritage as a black dragon (example: Black Guard Drake) that has a challenge rating np higher than its own, or back into its true form. it reverts to its true form if it dies. any equipment it is wearing or carrying is absorbed or borne by the new form.
In a new form, Vaal Mazio retails its alignment, ability to speak, proficiencies, lair actions and Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma scores as well as this action. Its statistics and capabilities are otherwise replaced by those of the new form, expect any class features or legendary actions of that form, as well as the hit points Maximum and it's current hit points.
If Vaal Mazio takes on a humanoid form, Vaal Mazio can choose to still implement some of it's draconic features and senses into the new form. the humanoid dragon will be under the effects of the draconic transformation spell as part of the shapeChange, Replacing force damage type. the effects of the spells override any benefits Vaal Mazio's original stats while in humanoid form.
Pitch. The Vaal Mazios secretes a special ooze that is a tar like substance from its body like sweat. Every 10 feet the Vaal Mazios moves, it leaves this Ooze in an unoccupied 5-foot area. Each creature in that enters the area or starts its turn in that area must make a DC 19 Strength saving throw, or have their movement speed reduced by half
Combustible. When a tarred creature is subjected to fire damage, it takes an extra 11 (2d10) fire damage if the tarred condition was caused by the gogmazios.
The vaal Mazio can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The vaal Mazio regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Tail Attack. The vaal Mazio makes a Tail attack.
Frightening Roar (Costs 2 Actions). The vaal Mazio lets out an almighty roar expanding to a range of 20 feet from it. Any targets within that range must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw against this roar or become frightened for 1 minute. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns,the effect ending on itself on a success. If a target's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to the vaal Mazio's roar for the next 24 hours.
